I've been fortunate enough to work with some of the best in the business! Here's what some of my Employers, Colleagues and Clients say about me, please feel free to contact them via the links if you want to know more.
I was referred to Jo by my web developer when I wanted a bright new business logo! WOW what a talented designer Jo is. We met and chatted about my ideas and direction for my brand and then I left it with her to work her magic. I loved everything that came back. It fitted the brief perfectly which of course made the decision even harder. Finally selected one and as well as being 100% happy with the result, the amount of positive comments I receive about my branding is awesome and clearly shows Jo knows how to help you stand out. I recently engaged Jo once again to provide high quality product for a joint Facebook initiative. They too were extremely pleased with the final product. Jo is easy to work with and regardless of where you are situated, by the benefits of tech she can make it happen! I could not recommend Jo more highly.
Joanne has a brilliant reputation across the board: clients and colleagues alike have praised her for her passion; for always producing work that's fresh and unexpected; for possessing an extraordinarily fine eye for detail; for being unselfishly collaborative; for adding value and, perhaps most importantly, for being able to create and recognize great ideas. Basically, she's just lovely to work with.
Joanne is a thoroughly professional Art Director/Designer/Creative and Strategic thinker who never leaves any stone unturned in the pursuit of creating effective results for her clients. She has a fine eye for design and although she finds the beauty in the detail, she never loses sight of the bigger picture. This ability was forged in the uncompromising cauldron of big-agency advertising. As Jo’s writer for 8 years at BADJAR Ogilvy Melbourne, working on some of Australia’s biggest brands, I have no hesitation in recommending her.
Joanne is a very competent and likeable art director. Her work isfresh, stylish and uncomplicated. She is a delight to work with. Give her a try on your next project. You won't be disappointed.

As far as references go, this one should be taken with a grain or two of salt. After all, I'm a copywriter, and convincing people with words is what I'm supposed to do for a living. However. I've worked with Jo for over five years. I've worked closely with her for two years. She was my art director for more than 12 months, so I feel I have some inside knowledge on what makes Jo tick. I watched her evolve from a talented designer into a very talented art director. She embraced the idea that good art direction has much more to do with great ideas, and less to do with pretty pictures. She can write a TV script. She can whip up a quick pantone layout. She knows a great idea from a mediocre one. And she can even spell the odd nine letter word. You'd be mad not to employ her, because I know for a fact that she'll work her guts out for you. Shit. I miss her already! p.s. If this sounds too good to be true, call me at Clemenger Tasmania

During her stay at IDP, Joanne proved very willing and able to cope with the pressure of a busy studio environment. She gained experience of using a PMT camera, type specification for photo setting, design, technical illustration and all stages of studio production. Above all she produced fast, clean and accurate artwork for company brochures, price lists, in-house magazines, promotional posters etc. I am sure she will prove to be a very valuable member of a design team.

Why you should hire Joanne Harvey. It’s hard to find an art director who is passionate about their work without being precious. Who is fastidious about detail without being a pain in the butt. Who responds to a brief with strategically sound ideas – and not just a clever visual. But this is the kind of art director that Joanne is. In the more than 7 years that she was part of my team at BADJAR, she never once let me down by missing an opportunity or a deadline. BADJAR was a highly competitive environment in which team competed against team on the same briefs. For many creative people this was an exhausting way to work. It can bring out your best or your worst. For Jo, it brought out her best. She worked harder to find a fresh and unexpected answer to a brief and then to brought it to life to the highest standards. At a personal level, I never saw her get involved in petty politics or jealously bad mouth colleagues and her attention to detail and professional manner meant that clients trusted and respected her. She also appreciated the role others play in an agency and was always on time with paperwork and timesheets. So why isn’t she still working at BADJAR?Jo took time off to have a baby at a time when BADJAR had just recently merged with the Ogilvy group. Changes to management meant that it became difficult to return to her previous job once her 12 months maternity leave was up.Much to my disappointment, Jo decided it might be the right time to leave. I have continued to work with Jo ever since on a freelance basis whenever possible and she is as passionate as ever about doing great work.If you’d like to know more, feel free to contact me.
